The Resource Center
Articles, Videos, Webinars, and Q&A
Welcome to the Loan Modification Resource Center. Here you will find a wealth of free information and guides on Loan Modifications, presented in three different formats: articles, videos, and "webinars" (online seminars). You can also ask questions below in our "Ask Arton" section. We update this site on a regular basis, so please check back periodically for new current information.
Lenders are beginning to seriously expand their Loan Modification departments. And as the departments grow, their policies and procedures continue to change. The purpose of this site is to provide you with the most current updates!
The information presented here comes from our extensive experience in negotiating with mortgage lenders for Loan Modification approval on behalf of homeowners. We know how lenders review Loan Modification applications, what they look for, common and uncommon problems, and ways in which these problems can be resolved.
And if you need personal assistance, we encourage you to fill out our confidential Loan Modification Application. Our Loan Modification Experts will review the application and contact you for a free consultation.
Q. Hi Arton, I am trying to sell my house through short sale. But I got a call from the lender’s collections department, and the representative said that I may be eligible for a loan modification. I was denied a modification 2 months ago. What should i do? - Arlene
A. Hi Arlene, most lenders will not process a Short Sale and a Loan Modification at the same time. So if you request a Loan Modification, they will likely close out your Short Sale file. Has your financial profile changed in the last 2 moths? If you feel that you are in a stronger financial position, a Loan Modification may be the better option for you. But be careful if your property has a foreclosure date scheduled. Should the Loan Modification be denied a 2nd time, you might not have enough time to switch to Short Sale and put a hold on the foreclosure.
